What qualification will I receive?

You’ll graduate with an Active IQ Level 3 Diploma in Teaching Pilates Matwork, a nationally recognised qualification that allows you to teach Pilates professionally in the UK and abroad.

Where is the training held?

All in-person sessions take place at Arcot Golf Club, Dudley, Cramlington NE23 7QP offering a comfortable well-equipped setting for our blend of theory and hands-on practical training.

How much does the course cost?

The total course fee is £970. Payment plans can be discussed on a case-by-case basis to make it manageable.

Do I need any previous experience?

No teaching experience is required though familiarity with Pilates practice will definitely help you get the most from the course.

ASSESSMENT OVERVIEW

Unit 1: Anatomy & Physiology for Exercise and Health

Gain a functional understanding of anatomy, movement mechanics, posture, core function and the body’s systems and how they adapt to exercise to support safe and effective teaching.

Unit 2: Supporting Clients in Exercise & Physical Activity

Learn how to communicate with clarity, inspire and motivate clients navigate barriers to participation, and encourage consistent long-term involvement in a supportive and inclusive way.

Unit 3: Health, Safety & Welfare in a Fitness Environment

Develop an understanding of your responsibilities around health and safety, including risk assessment, safeguarding and maintaining a high standard of care in a fitness setting.

Unit 4: Principles of Exercise, Fitness & Health

Understand the body’s response to exercise, including key training principles, variables, contraindications and how to modify sessions safely for a range of individuals.

Unit 5: Principles of Pilates Matwork

Explore the history key principles and core foundations of classical Pilates matwork, including how to build and deliver a well-rounded class.

Unit 6: Programming Pilates Matwork

Develop the ability to assess clients, set meaningful goals and create progressive, personalised Pilates programmes that are both effective and adaptable.

Unit 7: Instructing Pilates Matwork

Refine your teaching skills through planning, delivering and adapting sessions alongside developing your ability to observe, cue, correct and teach with confidence and presence.
